i survived

I survived the 8 weeks.

I even got paid on my last day there.

Yup, I was asked to sub...for real...green...money!

I couldn't have asked for a better last day with my kids, and subbing made it much easier to not unravel into an emotional mess. I'm going to miss those little 6/7 years olds so much.

To make the day a little better I also got flowers from the mister, a book from the class {letters to me-hilarious!}, and a book from my teacher called The Courage to Teach.

Can't believe that Step 1 is over, and onto Step 2 starting tomorrow.

Whew they don't waste any time around here!

Tomorrow I start another round of student teaching with 4th graders. Ya, those ones who actually like the opposite sex {oh boooy}, know more than they should, and may or may not be taller than myself.

Hopefully my experience with them is just as good or better than with my 1st grade crew.

Gonna be a hard one to beat tho.

I was going to talk about my weekend of Bachlorette happens, but the girl that took all the pictures {ya, no way I was bringing my camera into the scene} hasn't put them up yet so I'll have to share those and the good stories later.

one week to go

So today marks a week until my student teaching is over.

Over.

Seriously?

It has been 7 weeks?

I must say that if you would have asked me on day 1-7 if I would enjoy it as much as I do, I would have say you are freaking nuts. {ya I hid in a bathroom stall on day 1...holler}

I have fallen in love with being able to be a positive influence of the kid's lives. It may sound cliche but it's no joke. They make me laugh at the best times, and know how to drive me crazy at the worst.

They genuinely feel awful for me when I stub my toe on the desk and ask me if they can do anything. They also always like my clothes and earrings and braclets and tell me I'm pretty when I straighten my hair.

How could I not love them? haha.

I learned that every single day and every single student is different. They tell you this, but you never really "get it" until you see it for yourself. I also learned that Star Wars and iCarly rule the universe. Oh, and to some Spongebob. I guess Justin Bieber Fever isn't until at least second grade.

I mostly learned that kids are one of the greatest joys out there, and I am really really glad I chose the career path of  Eductation. And in all reality, I've always thought kids were a lot easier to get along with than adults anyway. Plus, the are really flipping hilarious.

I also REAAAAAAAAAAAALLY wish I could post the kids pictures I just took the other day of their "craziest face you've ever given pictures". Laughed my butt offfff. If only people won't so crazy and creepy in this world!

Okay...happy FRIDAY!

here goes nothing

Tomorrow my life does a little changeroo.

I start my 8 weeks of student teaching with my 1st graders.

Then comes my 7 months of an internship with my 4 or 5th graders.

Eeeeeek.

Yeah I am nervous.

Thank goodness I get to observe for two weeks before

I start to take over the classroom.

So pray for my scurred little self {especially around noon when I have

to awkwardly chill in the teacher's lounge with lots of women I don't know}

and hope I can handle not only one six or seven year old but eighteen of them.

P.S. why is it so hard for me to find school clothes?
