Wedding Wednesday (Uno)

Holy Moly this post might be a little uh...scattered.
and overwhelming
so bear with me folks.
Especially because my mind is clearly in too many places at once.
Via
With school being absolutely insane right now, trying to figure out where I'll be teaching next year, and thinking about wedding planning makes my mind go a little...bonkers.
BUT. Hopefully these Wedding Wednesday's will help me sort out all my wedding stuff into one day so I don't have to overwhelm my poor little brain that can only hold so much information.

A little background information:
I am going to be honest.
I have barely planned a damn thing for my wedding.
Okay, I haven't planned anything.
I have been so overwhelmed I can't even wrap my head around it.
It's not that I'm not excited.
That is definitely not it.
I am so very very excited I get to be with my best friend forever.
I just get really really stressed out when I think of all the things I need to do.
Then it makes me not even continue the searh.
I have this weird anxiety thing.
Ya, well I am learning to take it one day at a time.
Our wedding isn't for another year and a half so I have time.
Lots of time.
But when I think of all the things needed, I FREAK.
And veer away. fastly.
I'm sure people around me are like are you crazy?
Well maybe,  but I don't like to be rushed.
I like to enjoy things.
So here I am, taking one day to enjoy things and share them with you.
Lord knows I can't make a decision so maybe y'all can help me :)
Also, it's always nice to have some input.

***
Today I would like to start with theme.
Holy mama there are too many.
I love so many.
See? this is where the overwhelming part comes IN.
Since I obviously suck at chosing, I just wanted to show some stunning weddings I adore.
I want my wedding to be three things: simple, fun, and unique.
Hey, at least I know that much.
I want it to show who Jeff & I are as a couple.
The shit, OBVIOUSLY.
Might as well have a dang toilet as our wedding cake.
Whoa.

I have looked at so many different wedding themes and what I just cannot keep clicking "like" on stumble upon are the ones with unique characteristics.
The ones you are like "OH MY GOSH I MUST DO THIS"
or
"HOLY SHIZ HOW DID THEY EVEN THINK OF THAT ?"
Those types of thoughts.

For some reason lately I have been feelin the "vintage" theme.
I have no idea why.
Maybe because they all are unique and gorgeous.
I am thinking the wedding would have to be outside for it to take place though.
Hmm.
No idea.
Here are some things I've found that made me smile.
I lied about this week having one certain "topic".
I'll pick a topic next week.
I am feeling scattered today.

 (Actually doing these)
Bridesmaids if you see this...well act surprised :)

I LOVE guestbooks that have a unique touch instead of just a signed little name. I think having a picture of all your guests would be AWESOME to have later in life. Also, I thought of the idea of snapping the picture and having the couple or familiy write their name on the bottom of the picture and a memory of Jeff, I, or both of us on the back. Sweet memories, nothing like em. Guitar? if you play...what a wonderful treasure to have after your wedding. Strumming on your supporters! Puzzle pieces? I've never even seen that before! I think it'd be cool if one side made a puzzle of the couple (an engagement picture) and the other side everyone's signed pieces.

Via

Why do I love these leg pictures? I have no idea. I just do. And I LOVE the sunflowers with the red dresses. Pure beauty and simplicity. Perfect.

Via

I want to have a "sweet shoppe". I think it is adorable when the bride and groom have one table of sweets, mini cupcakes, and little treats that make the wedding just a little bit more fun and colorful. Plus, who wouldn't want TREATS and SWEETS? I don't see any hands raised.

I've been LOVING the whole "First Letter" thing people have been doing lately.
I think it looks a.) awesome b.) modern c.) simple d.) FUN e.) awesome
I need to stop using the word awesome or I'm going to turn into a fourth grader.
Or maybe I am one?
Beats me.

So if ANYONE has ANYONE awesome ideas they want to throw my way I will pay you not be upset.
I cannot wait until next Wednesday :)

Here's to YOU Blog World

I love you.
for seriously
From the bottom of my heart.
 you da bomb.com style.

Let me tell you a little secret.
I came into the blog world because I disconnected my facebook for three months.
(I had a blog before but...well not really. But kinda. Does that make sense? Ya it doesn't to me either.)
The moment Jeff and I got engaged  (Dec. 20-whoop whoop) we deactivated our accounts so people wouldn't find out through facebook of the big news, and we could tell them in person instead.
A few weeks went by and I was almost relieved without it.
A different person.
It was weird.
Way weird.
It is website for goodness sake.
So I didn't reactivate it until uhh...last week.
(Psssst. A Midwestern Touch is now on facebook ;))
Via

So I came into this world of blogging so I could still document my life and it's happenings. How to be healthy and happy, ya knooow.
I uh kind of fell in love.
Hard.
Mostly with the people who I never even thought I'd meet anyway.
I didn't even know this awesome world EXSISTED. Boy was I missing OUT!
I have never seen such positive support IN.MY.LIFE. and I've lived for quite some time.
Needless to say for the first half of it I didn't have a computer but whatever.
It makes me want to be a better person.
I can honestly say it makes me happy.
It may sound silly, but it is very true.
Especially because I never even expected it.
I just started doing this blog for me, to document things, to inspire myself.
Who woulda thunk it'd become something I fell in love with?
Not I.

Don't get my wrong I dig/dug facebook.
I use to be on it like 500 hours a day.
Probably not an exaggeration...except for the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day.
It consumed me.
Some days it determined my happiness.
There was so much negativity.
Yuck.
When I got facebook back I deleted (this is not exaggeration) over 500 people.
Did I know half of those people? No.
I felt bad pushing no though when they asked to be my friend.
But now? BOOM deleted.
"I pay no mind to the negative kind."
It is a great feeling to be surrounded by such happy thoughts and some truly amazing people.
It makes me believe once again that there really is good in this world.
I want to change this world.
I believe we can.
God is working through us all.
Via

I felt this needed to be said.
Because you guys rock my socks off.
Because I can now focus my energy into inspiring others, buildng postivity, and sharing experiences that make us all better people.
Good stuff friends, good stuff.

Thank Y'all for making me CHEESE.
I'm so glad I found this place/you guys.
=)

Happy TUESDAY to you!

P.S Going to start Wedding Wednesday's tomorrow.
Flippin' excited!

Home

So I was watching the Country Music Awards last night.
(Taylor Swift Entertainer of the Year? Seriously? Not happy.)
Big surprise, I know.
And something just wapped me in the head.
I started thinking.
As I do so very vey well.

There is really nothing like home.
The feel of home.
Where you were born and raised.
Where you had your first kiss, and your first date.
Where you stayed out late many of nights and had one too many.
That place that makes your soul smile.
Home.

Country makes me feel relaxed.
It reminds me of how I grew up. Where I was raised.
The respect, love, and meaning that went into each sweat, tear, and smile.
This Miranda Lambert song gets me.
Home always cures when I'm feeling sad or lonely.
It just cures everything.
My heart is smiling just thinking about it.

I know they say you cant go home again.
I just had to come back one last time.
Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam.
But these handprints on the front steps are mine.
And up those stairs, in that little back bedroom
is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar.
And I bet you didn't know under that live oak
my favorite dog is buried in the yard.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
if I could just come in I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

Mama cut out pictures of houses for years.
From 'Better Homes and Garden' magazines.
Plans were drawn, concrete poured,
and nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama's dream.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could just come in I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

You leave home, you move on and you do the best you can.
I got lost in this whole world and forgot who I am.

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing.
Out here its like I'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself.
If I could walk around I swear I'll leave.
Won't take nothing but a memory
from the house that built me.

There is just something about it that makes me....me.
Right when I hit those city limits I feel a since of relief.
I am home.
I am in my comfort zone.
I am where I belong.
Most times when I visit my hometown I go by the house I grew up in.
I exam the bent basketball goal on the garage where we played basketball for hours.
Where we spray painted our own lines to make sure it felt like a real game.
The front porch my dad worked so hard on.
The front yard where my mom planted flowers thorn bushes use to lay and get stuck in my feet.
The neighbors house where I found friendships.
The lot across the street where we would play football and baseball.
The street we sold lemonade in.
The parking lot I tried to stop my go cart with my foot in.
Which I would not advise. BTW.
The tree my brother and I made our fort and kept secrets.
You can't take those memories away.
Those are the things in life that are important.
Those are the things in life that make us who we are.
The loving people we surround ourselves with and the memories made along the way.

I may be different than most people.
If I could I'd live live next door to my parents for life.
I want to live in a small town where people are raised with respect.
I want to have a backyard that is filled with water of a lake or pond.
I want to let God's nature surround my life with peace.
I cannot wipe a smile off my face when I am in the middle of no where listening to country music with people I love.
I enjoy seeing kids running in the streets. Riding bikes. Playing hide-n-seek.
I just enjoy the simple life.
The simple things in life.
That are pure joy to me.
I love home.

I miss home.
(And YES, these are all pictures from home. They are from my high school years. I was going to do younger but my hair was a little wack back in the day. Sorry.)

What do you love about home?
What's your favorite kind of music?
Did you watch the Academy of Country Music Awards last night?
I am so bummed Jason Aldean didn't get Entertainer of the Year :(
Taylor Swift is so.......yesterday.

"I'll See You Later"

It's not goodbye.
It's "I'll see you later."
I am bad at goodbyes.
They make me sad.
Really sad.
I hate leaving people I care about.
And I hate peole I care about leaving me.
That's why it's "I'll see you later."
It's much easier for my poor heart to handle.

Via
It's always a good weekend when I get to see my man.
But Sundays sure suck.
No worries though, I will see YOU later.

I cannot even believe that is 90 degrees today.
I also cannot believe it is going to 50 tomorrow.
Oh, Kansas what am I going to do with you?
It must have known Jeff was going to be in town and cranked up the heat before he went back to Minne-SNOW-ta.

Jeff and I had the joy of getting to see his momma today and having lunch with her.
We got our On The Border on.
It's been too...too...too long,
So glad she came, and so glad we got to eat at one of Jeff and I's old "once a week" restaurants.

Caught Ya! I'm sorry I have paparazzi traits.
Then the food caught up to us and we were out.
We were pooped.
Done for.
So tired.
So we used this Sunday to watch the Royals play baseball and enjoy a nice little nap.

Realizing we only had a few hours left together we thought we'd end it with some FROZEN YOGURT.
My favorite.
Oh it makes me happy.

hehe

Somehow the time just starting running.
More like sprinting.
Somehow it was 5 already.
Err I thought I just woke up.
Somehow it was then time for Jeff to go "home".

I wish I had a mad smart brain so I could invent a pause button in life.
Anyone wanna join me?

How was everyone's weekend?
Anything crazy, new, or exciting?
I wanna hear :)
Happy Sunday!
Have an AWESOME week!

Tis The Season

For BEAUTIFUL weather.

Is Jeff asleep? Nope, hello squints. :)

And grilling.

And chilling.

And laughing.

And lawn chairs.

And beers.

And penis' in the street (painted)

I'm sorry but it just really makes me laugh. Who does that? For real. I'm sure some crazy college student.
Could today get any better?
I really don't even think so.
Family.Lover.Sunshine.
The only thing that isn't here is the rest of my family and some mountains, lake, or beach.
Then, it would be ultimate perfection.
Ya, I'm easy to please.

Add in burgers, brats, brownies, and beers and you have yourself a happy pappy Molly.
I think I could get use to this.
No, I know I could get use to this.

THUMBS UP for Saturday.
Wish my parents lived here and Jeff came back, we could do this all the time.
Good Day. Great Times. Good people.

Now it's party time.
Here we come.

It's April Already?

If you haven't heard or looked at your calendar.
It is APRIL FOOLS day.
I have been thinking of things to get people with all week.
Then I remember, I can't lie.
Therefore, April Fools Day just sucks.
I was like Oh Oh I'll tell my mom I'm pregnant, or I won't graduate on time, or something crazy like that.
Can't do it.
I am hoping someone plays a GOOD joke on me and somehow it involves me winning money.
Somehow someone gets me literally every year.
Last years one just made me mad.
Yes, brother. This is for you.
I was happily babysitting my kiddos and I got a phone call from my little brother in a panic.
I honestly didn't even have time to think about this day full of mean, funny jokes.
Well he told me he got in a wreck.
Really brother? That is not even funny.
I was worried. upset. shaking. scared.
He said he hadn't told mom yet.
So I had to keep this secret to myself. Waaaat?
Rude.
I am still made at you for that.
He has cried "wolf" three times on that one now.
(One including brother calling to tell me he got stopped by the police on the way home from a high school football game and had been drinking. He was frantic. He said the cop wanted to talk to his mom. I guess I had to pretend to be mom and talk to cop. I was crying (Ya, I have no idea why). I hate you brother. Not really,  but kinda at that moment.)
Not coming to your rescueeeee.
I still love you though, you are darn lucky.
I hope everyone has a day full of lots of jokes and pranks.
HAPPY APRIL!!
Oh,
and happy
2.5 years baby.
=)

Friday Favorites
(My Birthday is in May ;))

I know I cannot be trusted with cameras.
I know I know.
BUT. I am about to be a year older in May.
I will be more responsible :)
Maybe.
Don't you feel bad my pictures look like poo?
Or am I a dumby because I broke my last one. And the one before that. And the one before that.
Okay I lose.
That doesn't change that I still want this beautiful baby.
In all reality I just want my pictures to look like Jessica's.
Wishful thinking.
Hi, NikonD5000 it is VERY nice to meet you.

This adorable. Dont cha think?
Sorry I have two randos kissing on here.
However, those signs are CUTE.
