Wedding Wednesday {Saying YES to the DRESS}

If you read my blog a few days ago, you may have seen that I found MY DRESS for our wedding in August.

I had the honor of going with my momma the first three times I tried dresses on, and since my aunts were in town last weekend we decided to have them  come along and join us when we looked again. It was blast having them there with me {only missing one!} and was so glad they were there for such a special day!

The first appointment I had on Saturday was at 10:15 AM at a place called Mia's.

I knew we could be in for some trouble when the girl didn't even help me get into the wedding gowns. Although I must say in the end it was a blessing that she hated her job that day and didn't help us at all. This was because since she didn't help me get into those dresses, my mom helped me instead. It was a really special moment to me and I am thankful we got to share that with each other.

However, their dresses were almost the same as the service. Slim pickings.

Needless to say we left that appointment and headed to my next appointment at 1:00 PM. This was after we had eaten lunch, picked up my other aunt, and somehow the GPS took up on a loopty loop.

Right when I walked in the door I had a good feeling. First of all, it was soo busy.
Bride to be's all around. I always know business is a good sign they have some good stuff to offer!

Second off, it was extremely nice and everyone seemed excited and happy. {unlike our previous luck} Then a girl took us all back to our own private room that just so happened to be GINORMOUS and was absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere was a 180. The gowns were a 180.

As we walked back to our room I caught a glimpse of dresses hanging on the wall and I just knew, knew knew knew that I would have some luck there. The girl working with us was extremely helping in getting all of the details I wanted in the dress, what type of wedding I was having, what type of personality I had, and so on. She wanted to make sure I got the perfect dress not only for my big day,  but most importantly that fit ME and my personality.

She brought me out 5 dress. 3 dresses that fit every detail I had given her I wanted in a dress.
They were gorgeous. I would have taken them all. 1 dress she called a "wild card".  And 1 she just wanted me to try on to see what I thought of it and just to say "I tried them all".

After trying the first 3 on I was really confused. I loved them all. Each of them were gorgeous. I could see myself walking down the isle in all of them actually. But I didn't get a "feeling"...or something. I didn't feel like it was the "wowza" factor I was looking for. By far the best ones I had tried on yet though.

I also had no idea if I would even be able to decide between the three.
There was no way. I loved them all the same, just in different ways.

That was.....
until I tried on "the wild card".

Which I must add that when she brought it out I just knew that I wouldn't like it. I probably looked at her like she was a crazy women. But I tried it on anyway. Plus, she was pretty stylish so I knew her pickings couldn't be TOO horribly bad.

So I tried it on.
Just to say I did.
Just to make her happy.
Just because.

And the wild card did it. It was not only everything I wanted in a dress, but it added a pop of pizazz that I loved. It was different. Unique. I knew no one else would have a dress like it.

Plus mostly importantly, I felt good in it.
Confident.
Pretty.

And what really did it for me was when I walked out and they all started crying. It was like some wave of emotion sneaked on into the room. All I had to really ask was "Is this the one?"  The one I walk down the isle to my husband to.

& I cannot wait for him to see it!

Thank you mom, mostly importantly, for being there not only always, but throughout this process for me. Thank you for giving me support, dealing with me {ya this is a big one- ha}, and making these memories we will get to share forever. It wouldn't be the same without you and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else.

Truthful Tuesday Link-Up

The TRUTH is....

The picture for the link-up is a work. in. progress.
I realize the picture is kind of whack right now but trust me it won't look that awful in the future. Plus, I still haven't had time to create a button code so if you want the picture just save it I guess for now?
Sorry, me and technology aren't best friends yet...we are rekindling our romance soon.

I am excited about getting healthy again.
I have been so exhausted lately I know that eating better and working out will help my energy times ten. I always feel like a whole new person when I  treat my body right and not feed it 5 packages of fruit snacks a day.

I miss income.
It's actually kind of killing me and stressing me out. I'm not use to this. I am big on saving and with this whole no income and lots of outcome, I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown. And good news for me I have to pay for a 300 dollar test in the next week with an addition to 300 dollar in books. Need to find a way to make some extra money or sommmmmmmmething.

What did I do with my life before blogging?
I have no idear.
Well, I guess I had a "boyfriend" that I got to see every night {seems like so long ago!} and roommates that I would hang out with and go out on the town with.  I do love the blog world and all of you in it. It motivates me to not only be a better person but also to create, do things for myself, and challenge myself on a daily basis.
Link-Up & I'll love you FORVER.

body pump

Happy Monday to you all!

I had some words of wisdom.
1. don't take a 3 hour nap during the day
2. don't take nyquil to make yourself sleep

because

1. you still won't sleep
2. you will feel like you were drugged for most of the next day

moving on...

***************************************************
Today I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a KU Fit Pass.

What is that you ask?

Well it' a pass that allows you to take all the workout classes you can dream of or what is scheduled for an entire semester. I knew there would be no other way after work I would workout unless I did a class that would motivate me to get a good butt whoopin. Plus, I'm so competitive that in a class with tons of girls I won't wanna be the one slacka lackin.

My first class I attended was BodyPump.
The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. ]

That is no joke. Killer. I had to yell at myself a few hundred times to step it UP.
I could barely walk out of the gym. haha. My legs were going to give at any second in time and on the way home I tried to call my mom but could barely hold the phone up to my ear they were so shakey.
Needless to say, I think it worked me and felt so good to get back in the workout mode.

No excuses from now on!

I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is trying to get toned and needing a good hard workout to get those muscles toned up and beach ready!

eleven month countdown

Since our wedding date has finally reached the one year mark, I decided to do a monthly countdown of the big day and what has gone down each month any other jazz I feel is necessary to add into it.

First of all, Month 12 practically flew right past me and I barely caught a glimpse of it. However, we did manage to get a few things rolling on the wedding. There were some good things, and always some snags in the way. I have been trying to realize though that it doesn't matter what little things come in the way, but what matters most is how I handle them and make the experience positive and memorable for all involved.

Here's what went down in August!

We changed our date.
{to Aug. 11, 2012}

Booked the venue.
{after having to change the first venue because someone had already booked it}

Cake Lady reserved.
{thanks mom}

Dress PICKED.
{so glad my aunts and mom were there to help me on such a special & fun day!}

Wedding List typed

&

that's the skinny so far!

September I have a feeling things will really get a rollin' because fiance is finally {thank you JESUS} going to be in the same state as me every single weekend. Since we will actually get to see each other quite often we can really get going and talking about all of the things we need to get done.

It seems so far away but I know it's going to be here before we know it and after
getting the dress I can just hardly wait for it!  Let's get this party started!

Mrs. S countdown : 11 MONTHS.

cheers to the freakin' weekend

I don't even know where to start with this weekend.

So much went down.

I found MY DRESS

&

I took a THREE hour nap.
and now I will probably never sleep

Today is also a day to remembered all of those who got their lives taken on a
very tragic, awful day 10 years ago. However, I am also so thankful for all of those men & women
who risked their lives to save many, many others. Thank you for your service, time, and love!
God.Bless.America.

P.S. 11 months until the big DAY.

so fresh & so clean clean

After a day full of wild kiddos ready for the weekend it was so nice to get to spent the evening with the
familia. If only they all lived CLOSER.

This fam including two of my aunts, uncle, cousin, and her hubs.

After work my Aunt Janet and myself went to pamper ourselves a bit and got some mani's and pedi's.  Thank you times a million for the nice and needed treat :) Really, my toes were looking ROUGH. And rough not as in little paint chips, rough as in ummm it had been so long that half of my toes were painted, half not. Awful. But they are looking fly and fresh once again. Thank goodness.

Plus, after being on your feet all day it really felt like heaven! Too bad I can't have someone do that to my feet every day. They should would be a lot happier!

And it's definitely always a good time to enjoy trying to figure out what the heck those people are saying to each other in Vietnamese. They talk a bazillion miles per hour I don't even know how they know what each other is saying. Whew, wears me out trying to figure it out.

I still think they don't talk in English so they can make fun of us. Especially when they talk sometimes in English. Those tricky boogers.

After we were feeling so fresh and so clean we picked up a few last minute party assesories for my little cousins first bday party tomorrow and then headed for some grub at none other than OTB. I could barely walk out of the place I was so full. Probably was the three buckets of CHIPS we had. Gets me every.single.time.

Then we just got to hang out, watch the aunts put together some birthday stuff, and just chatty chat chat. Now time to pass outy out out so I'm awake to hopefully find a WEDDING DRESS tomorrow and party on for little Packsons birthday.

Oh happy days and HAPPY WEEKEND.
