The face behind the sunflowers

Another Link-Up Party.
What What.
The lovely Michelle @ A Little Bit of This & That started the cutest idea of doing a blogger
"Meet & Greet"
So others can find out more about you and vice versa.
Because really one of the best parts about blogging is meeting other people who know what you are talking about without giving you the crazy eyes,
going though the same things as you, and are simply the nicest  {and funniest} people EVer.

If you for some reason don't know me...well, you should. ha
I'm Molly from {obviously} A Midwestern Touch.
A recent grad trying to grow up and put on my big girl pants to prepare
for all that is to come in my future.
As well as enjoying being engaged to the love of muh life.
I have no idea how I even thought of the name of my blog.
I  just wanted to do something that represented "me" and my hometown and the
people I am surrounded with came to mind.
And that began A Midwestern Touch in January of 2011.

The reason:
The very first reason I got the blog was to write down ideas, crafts, random thoughts down so I wouldn't forget them. Becausee, well, I forget everything. And think...way too much. I also thought it'd be fun to look back someday and see the journey I have taken over the years.

THEN.

I got rid of facebook. Yup, I did it...I pushed the deactivation button. For a good reason though. On December 20, 2010...I got engaged. { !!!!!!! :) } And right after we got engaged Jeff thought it'd be a good idea to deactivate our facebook accounts until we could tell everyone in person or personally and they wouldn't find out through facebook {because we keep it real like that}. That led more happening to my blog. Such as the life of a senior in college, engaged woman, and just trying to find my way in life.

SO.

That's kind of why I'm here.
To grow. To write. To discover myself and look back and see how I've grown, maybe not grown, and the love and fun I've experienced along the way. Plus, I use it as a second brain to remember all the little details I would never be able to.
It works out pretty perfectly.
And it wouldn't be the same without you all.
Who make blogging 10x better.

Theme Song + Awards

I have to share this.
You may not care, or even like country at ALL
but this song is the shiz. And it was made for ME.
Seriously.
Maybe Brad Paisley is secretly telling me he wanted/wants to
marry me?
Well, I DO Brad.
I DO.
:)

Old Alabama-Brad Paisley
She’d rather wear a pair of cut-off jeans than a fancy evening dress,
And with her windows rolled down and her hair all blown around, she’s a hot southern mess...
She’ll take a beer over white wine (okay but I LOVE LOVE red wine) and a campfire over candle light,
And when it comes to love, oh her idea of a romantic night...

Is listenin’ to old Alabama, drivin' through Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight at the Right Time of the Night,
And she can’t keep her hands off of me!

Now we’re rollin’ down an old back road,
I got the steering wheel in one hand...
We’ll find a hideaway where she and I can play,
In Mother Nature’s band...

Now we’re listenin’ to old Alabama, parked somewhere in Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight and It Feels So Right,
And It’s Love In The First Degree!
Forget about Sinatra or Coltrane, or some ol’ Righteous Brothers song,
And Barry White ain’t gonna work tonight, if you really wanna turn her on;
Play some back home come on music that comes from the heart,
Play something with lots of feeling, ‘cause that’s where music has to start.

Yup. I am obsessed with this song.

Dos- I have really large/BIG dreams, but I still think it's possible to achieve them.
Tres- I really am going to change the world, watch me!
Cuatro- I am not scared of spiders but TERRIFIED of slugs. Ya, weird. Creepiest little shits alive.

A Secret

Okay, I am going to admit something to you.
However, you are not allowed to judge or be a hAter.
Deal?
To be honest...I have NO idea what the heck I am doing sometimes.
I have no direction in this blog most days.
My main goal is to inspire others to lead a happy life.
I don't know how to do half the things other bloggers know how to do.
For example: I want to change that ugly looking white spot behind my background.
Yup, I have no idea how.
I have juggled changing my url.
However, the midwest just feels like apart of me that affects my life daily.  I think I'll let it stay :)
I am learning as I go.
One day at a time.
This could be really bad I suppose.
This may not be a very pretty sight to read for some.
I am just being honest.
In a way I feel like it's just me though.
I am trying to educate myself daily.
BUT...I think it's quite fun to just write how I feel.
Figure things out as I go.
Write what I experience.
About the experience.
Write about things I enjoy.
Knowing myself, a direction would make me get in a no fun rut.
I like to be random. I get bored VERY easily.
I like to keep you on your feet. I like to keep myself on my feet. (Err..what?)
I like to just be me.
If you know me, me is not a sit still write about the same thing over and over again kind of person.
I love to blog.
When I stop loving it, that means I am doing something wrong.
I don't want to write because I should.
I want to write because I love it.
I don't want to feel like I HAVE to post something every day.
I want to post something because I want to share my adventures with you.
I want to post because I am INSPIRED by what I'm writing, which will hopefully allow others to get inspired.
I want to document my day to day life and what it teaches me.
How it allows me to grow.
I want to be able to put capital letters on words that shouldn't
be capitalized because I CAN, even though it is not grammatically correct. (Sorry Mrs. Verren)
I want to post because it makes me excited.
To put a little pep in my step.
For my fingers go 100 mph because they are so pumped to be typing and telling you my story.
I feel like this is how life should be.
It should be us just following our heart.
Do something you get EXCITED about.
Do something you ENJOY.
Do something that makes you HAPPY.
These are the few things I have learned over the past few years. (Plus, many many more)
I have found a passion I never even knew exsisted.
Would woulda thunk Molly would write to the world? Okay maybe just a dozen.
(I love you guys!)
I love discovering new things.
I got a blog to remember things because I am ever so forgetful.
This is not an understatement.
Ask Jeff.
I forget evvvvvvvvverything.
My planner = MY LIFE.
Without it, I might forget my own name.
My blog then turned into something I just enjoyed doing.
I look forward to reading others blogs.
I enjoy sharing my experiences as a college student who is just trying to enjoy this crazy ol' thing called life.
So if you read my blog, THANK YOU.
Thank you for enjoying these adventures with me.
Thank you for keeping me going.
Thank you for being supportive.
Thank you for letting me learn as I go.
And most importantly THANK YOU for letting me just be.....ME.
I <3 you all.
Especially you Mom & Dad :)
My #1 Supporters.
Y'all ROCK!
XOXO

Be YOU, everyone else is taken

I'm gonna take a day and explain myself.
Who I am?
What is this gal all about?
We are always trying to "find" ourselves.
But why?
We are RIGHT here.
Literally.
Sometimes we look too much into what
we should beome, instead of enjoying who we are and what we are here for.
I know I get caught up in changing things, trying to be something I'm not,
and it always leaves me frustrated and confused.
Then I think...."What the heck is wrong with just being ME."
Nothing.
If people don't like that I tell weird jokes or make lots of crazy faces,
why should I let it get to me and make me think I need to change?
Being myself is good enough for me.
It is perfect for me.
I am done trying to be someone to please others.
The most important person to please is MYSELF,
then I can please, inspire, and help others.
Me.

I love country music.
I firmly believe laughter is the best medicine to anything.
I absolutely LOVE sunshine and physical activities. (Maybe a brew on the side)
I like games. HATE to lose. But that never happens ;)
I would rather hang out with little kids than people my age.
(They are much nicer. And quite funny.)
I absolutely love to write. I didn't know this until I started writing for fun.
This blog truely makes me smile. I have no idea why. But it does.
I love cowboy boots and they are much more comfortable than heels.
Don't get me wrong though, I love me some stilettos.
I'd rather wear athletic clothes than dress up.
I can't sing.
At all.
But I sing my stinking heart out for the whole world to hear.
I crack myself up sometimes, although others don't think it is as funny.
I laugh anyway.

I am really passionate about changing this corrupt world.
I want God to be first in my life, I'm still working on that.
I curse like a sailor, I just cannot help it.
I love how I feel after I exercise but I sometimes have to force myself into the gym.
I am me.
Flaws included.
Be Yourself.
You have no other choice.
You might as well enjoy the beautiful person you are.
And I promise you, you are a beautiful person.
Inside and Out.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
God created you to be....simply you. And YOU is more than
enough.
=)
