where I've been

Since Jeff & I have gotten married we have had exactly one weekend in town. One. Uno.

That one weekend was right before I started my new job. So needless to say we haven't really been home. And our house is screaming for some attention. And I'm just screaming because it was looking all crazy-like.

This year Jeff, my parents, and his mom all decided to get some season football tickets. That made me at least on cloud nine. Possibly ten. The whole fam bam tailgating for all the home games? Count me in.

So the past three weekends we have been rocking, chalking, and getting our game faces on to watch none other than the Kansas Jayhawks. Of course.

Even though we are currently 1-2 and looking a tad rough around the edges, I'm praying that they get better and get at least another W this season. I love my Hawks, but I really reallllly hate losing. Take the good with the bad though.

This is definitely my very favorite time of the whole year and I'm soaking it all uppppp. Fall weather + football + family love = a big thumbs up. Just wish the weekends would last a little (or a lot) longer.

alive and a wedding picture

I am alive.

Barely sometimes. But yup, I'm still a kickin'.

It's been some crazy weeks with school being busy and the weekends being packed full. I just haven't had time to sit down and do well, anything.

I really can't complain though because being busy means I'm a.) making money and b.) spending time on the weekends having a blast in a glass with all the people I love. So, complaining really shouldn't be something I'm doing.

Anywho.

Thank you bearing with me. And with that, I will leave one of the two pictures we have gotten back from the wedding. (I am seriously dying...yes, dying....to see them. Talk about anxious.)

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Punta Cana - Food

One of my favorite things about going to Punta Cana and staying at the Excellence Resort was that it was all-inclusive. Now that, can make you feel like a queen/king for sure

Food at your fingertips, drinks every step. Pretty awesome if you ask me. Definitely the way to go. No worry in the world but a cold brew in your hand.

At the resort they had a TON of restaurants. A ton of DIFFERENT restaurants at that. From Mexican, to Italian, to Mediterranean, to Seafood, etc. Yeah, they had it all. And we were loving it. All of it.

Not many places where we just walk into and have a three course meal and about a bottle of wine. Ah, the life. Anyway, just thought I'd rock out some of our dinner/meal pictures.

I have got to say I am lucky I have a husband who likes to grill and help cook.

Speaking of that, he is currently sleeping on the job. Maybe I spoke too soon ;)

Punta Cana

Has it really been over a week since I've written on here?

I must have slept through last week or something.

This weekend? Perfection.

Football. Family. Tailgating. Friends. Food. And much more awesomeness.

Today though I'm going back to my reminiscing of my love for Punta Cana. If you missed it, that is where husband & I went on our honeymoon. A little piece of heaven.

One thing I haven't really showed is the actual town of Punta Cana. It's kind of crazy once you hit the outskirts of the resorts how it becomes like a whole other world. And a world that made me want to adopt a bazillion little Dominican children and take them home with me.

It gave me a nice, hard reality check. It makes me sad and even ashamed of how I act sometimes. Not appreciative at times as I should be. I have a roof over my head, while many of them don't even have beds.

It made me have a little fire in me that wanted to once again, change the world. It's crazy how much Americans complain. And even myself. We talked to a few people there and they have to work 12 or 24 hour days 6 days a week. And that work? Is no joke. Hard work.

Anyway, I came back more thankful and feeling more blessed than ever. Can't lie, I still want to adopt a little Dominican though :)

morning drive

There are some times of the day that I just absolutely love. And there are some times of the day where I wish they never exsisted.

Case in point: When my alarm ring a ding dings the most annnnnoying sound in the universe at 5:45, I officially hate life. Then 6:06 where I know I have to get up or I will be extremely late and have to actually step out into the real world one blind step at a time because I cannot, just cannot open my eyes yet.

Every morning I think to myself, "How is it already this early?" And every night I think "Where did the day go?"

Time flies. So fast. It's quite scary.

So at about 6:45 each morning, I just soak that fast paced life in. One of my favorite times of the day (other than the moment I get home from a busy exhausting day to the husband-never knew how much I'd appreciate that). I have about a 20 minutes drive to work each day. That drive....is a blessing.

I have time to drink my entire two cups of coffee, eat my holy shiz I'm going to be late - out of the door breakfast, and listen to a little christian rock. As I drive by the empty fields I just smile every morning taking it in. The country just warms my little soul. I love everything about it.

That moment each morning reminds me of precious moments that can mean so much. Even when they can mean so little to someone else. Those are the moments that keep us sane. Keep us waking up for more (among many other things, obviously).

Or at least keeps me smiling at 6:45.

Cheers to a MONDAY that ended in no sickness, no blood, and thankfully all 18 children still standing.

I think I'll come back for more tomorrow :)

Whoa

One thing before the weekend.

I miss this blog. And I miss all my blog frans.

Maybe by Christmas I will have my life back. Husband hopes so too.

For now I'm just trying to mold some little minds, and keep the husband smiling. Even though I think he is still adjusting to my hair supplies/makeup/clothes all over the place. Oh, and hair. I really don't know how I have any left.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I miss you. And I will return soon. At least I am crossing my fingers it happens more than twice a week.

HAPPY WEEKEND.

Honeymoon Beachin' It

Well it's that time again. Monday Monday, one day closer to Friday. Thank you Lord.

It's been quite the busy few days of starting teaching and homegirl is worn out. I feel about 85. Well, my feet and knees do at least. Bath time is definitely a crucial element to my day.

I wanted to continue on today (tonight) with my Honeymoon recaps. You can see all about our excursions here. Even though I really hate doing this because all I want to do is jump in the pictures and peace out of town back to the Dominican land.

Today I'm going to reminisce about the beach. Oh the beach, the beautiful heavenly beach. Okay time out, who wants to jump on an airplane?!

But really the beaches there were gorgeous. And to think there are beaches much prettier is just too crazy for me to believe. It was a dreamland. And no sharks were near so I loved it that much more.

The beach is where we spent about 82.59% of our time on the 'moon. Jeff talking to his favorite Dominican friend, and me reading away and just soaking it all in. It couldn't have got much better.

Excellence Punta Cana, I want you back.

Here are some photos of where I left a little piece of my heart.

WARNING: Picture overload. You are welcome for sparing you about 100 others. :)

Ahh... I can now continue my week.
