Okay so last night I tried something new.
Change and me are not friends. It's one thing I really wish I COULD change.
Anyway, I did a workout class I had never done before. Turbokick. I walked in like a timid little puppy. I also walked in to see everyone in the class planted like sardines in the back row.
Insert instant freak out.
I walked up, or more so dragged myself up, to the front of the room where I was hanging out by myself. Then I look to find the instructor and she is pretty much right beside me. So I was side eyeing her and thinking I was about to have a broken neck from watching her.
All was good when a girl came and literally stood two inches away from me. This was turbokick. So yeah, I graciously moved to the corner of the room so I did not get a turbokick to the face.
Moving to the back corner of the room left me front and center to the glass doors and windows to the outside and next to the beastliest beast I'd seen in a bit. I think she was looking at me like I was in the wronnnng class. And I'm sure all of the folks outside those big glass windows got themselves a good laugh.
I was kicking, punching, burpeeing, and jumping jacking all over the place. Maybe a little off the rest of the class, but it kicked my bootay! I realized by the end of the class that I was so glad I tried something new, even if it meant looking like a fool the first time. I got a crazy good workout in and even considered coming back.
Moral of the story: Try something new. Sometimes change isn't so bad. And kicking and punching the air is a pretty nice stress reliever. Just make sure it's only air :)
Has anyone else done turbokick? If you haven't, you should definitely try it out!

Steal Your Dollar City
Unfortunately this will be the last post of the fun shenanigans I had during the past week at the lake.
If only unlimited fun could last forever!
The last adventure we went on while on our mini vacation was to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. The whole entire family got to go this time and it was a blast to have them all there. Especially my little niece, roller coaster lover in the making.
Silver Dollar City is a theme park that is an 1880's theme with cute little stores, a whole lot of food, and more importantly....boat loads of rides and roller coasters. So pretty much a day of feeling like a little kid all over again. Can't say I hate that.
We got there when it opened, and walked out when it closed down. Didn't waste a single bit of fun. Other than the fact we were bad luck and kept getting on broken rides, it was pretty much non-stop awesomeness.

Not many pictures were taken because I was too busy getting soaked from head to toe, flung upside down, and didn't think my camera could handle that kind of fun.
Now take me baaaack, please!

Let freedom RING
.....let the sunburns stinnnnng.
Happy (day late) Fourth of July!
We spent the fourth of July on the water, along with most of everyone else from Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. The lake was packed with red, white and blue swimsuits, flags, hats, glasses, and anything else that comes with those three lovely colors.
Starting early we hopped on the boat and my little brother gave us a show on the skiis and wakeboard. I, however, was still waking up.
To me there is just not many things that are prettier to my little blue eyes than the way the water and cliffs look at the lake. It's just unbelievable, all the time. I just can't get over that. Thank you God for that beauty.
What is even crazier is that this little piece of heaven is my parents forever and I am so pumped to keep coming here and sharing this love we have with our future little family. But for now, Piper is enjoying is just enough. She loves her some lake!
After we got roasted and watched some crazy noodle bongs, we grilled out and then headed for some fireworks. It was a perfect 4th at the lake and now I can't wait to keep enjoying it for the rest of the weekend!
How was your fourth?!

the time I actually completed a big goal
First can I just say, BLOGGER TRIP TO NYC to see Kelly and Michael?!
I can NO idea so many people loved them as much as I do. Gosh that makes me so happy.
On another note, July 3rd, WOW. Can that even be possible? Fastest summer of my life by far. It's crazy to think this time last summer we were finishing up all of our wedding details and last minute to-dos.
And this summer? Well I'm just relaxing to the max.
Well.....not always relaxing.
You see on June 3rd something weird happened. You may have heard me talk briefly about it before. I thought to myself on that day, I am GOING to change my lifestyle. I was tired of being tired and knew I had no more excuses to use now that school was over.
And I have taken baby steps to get there. Baby steps are what motivate me the most. Setting very, very small manageable goals helped me so much. Heck, it's what got me through even the yuckiest, stinkiest, laziest days. I knew I just had to get up and move whether I liked it or not.
That is the ONLY way I can get anywhere. Maybe that's just me though. I can't just say, "I am going to stop eating processed food." Let's get real, that's impossible to just quit cold turkey. Or heck even at all.
I wanted to change my unhealthy habits, to healthier ones. Even if it meant slowly doing it so I did it right, and did it as a lifestyle change instead of a week change. Ya feel me? And that did not mean killing myself by not eating ANYTHING unhealthy.
Yes, I've had some drinks. Yes, I've eaten bad things. Point is, I let it happen occasionally in moderation. I don't want to go bonkers here. Baby steps, remember.
So anyway. As a way to keep track and motivate myself, I started a facebook page and kept it private. I told myself that I WOULD NOT, COULD NOT post this baby until I could go a month with working on these changes and living a "mostly" healthy lifestyle. Or more like get up and MOVE every day and eat as healthy as I knew how.
Well today marks a MONTH from that June 3rd day. I have gone 30 days of the challenge to change my lifestyle. I work out 4-5 times a week. Move MORE. Feel SO MUCH BETTER. Just overall pumped that I got this far. Because honestly, I only usually last a week. And I can't believe I set a goal and knocked it out.
So I decided to keep the facebook page open. I kept it open and published it so I could not only motivate myself still, but so others could motivate each other and me. Not only with fitness, but with LIFE. Making each other feel GOOD.
I called the Page (don't laugh) MoveIt (with Molly). To encourage anyone who wants to be encouraged to just MOVE IT, no matter what way, shape, or form. And to not be defeated with baby steps. It takes baby steps to make big changes. At least I think so.
Anyway, JOIN the page if you would like and we can rock it out together! Bow chicka ow ow!

kelly & michael obsessed
Is it just me or is your favorite way to start the morning watching Kelly & Michael, too? With a coffee in hand. I'm sure you have showered already, unlike I usually have done.
I crack up for about 100% of the show and love it every single time. I think Kelly & I were meant to be best friends. Michael can hang out too, but he doesn't have as cute of shoes and clothes as Kelly. Sorry.
I got so fired up about this show that I looked into getting some tickets to watch them. Unfortunately online you can only schedule for that month, or maybe I'm just not being smarter than the computer.
Either way, I put it on my "life list" and whenever I can get those tickets I am on a jet plane to NYC. I will order four tickets for any lucky souls that travel along with me.
I am almost tempted to get a matching coffee mug. I've gone mad. And have WAY too much time on my hands. I guess I will just have to DVR them during the school year.
Am I the only Kelly and Michael lover? If not, WHO'S COMING TO NYC WITH ME?!

Our little lake girl // How to connect now that Google Reader is leaving us
There is just something about the lake that just makes me the happiest girl in the entire universe.
There is just nothing like it to me. Especially when you are with your husband and family. It's pretty hard to beat it. All we are missing is a few important people.
Another person who is pretty obsessed with the lake is Miss Piper. She loves it just about as much as we do. If that is possible.
I try to take her out to the restroom and all she does is choke herself until I sprint down to the water with her and take her on the dock.
I took a few pictures of our lake rat in action. I am so happy that my other half also gets a few days to spend at the lake with us. Now bring on the 4th and all the fireworks!
And a huge CONGRATS to my parents for their new purchase of a sweet boat. Love it! Not too bad of an anniversary present :)
p to the s....as we all know, google reader is leaving us all. (sad, I know) But if you want to follow this little blog of mine there are a few ways to do so.
Instagram (my go to)
I promise some day I will be back to my ol' bloggin' self. For NOW, I am just enjoying every little second of life.
Happy 4th of July WEEK!

cheers to thirty-one years
Today is a special day for this two love birds.
Thirty-one years ago on this very day, these two got married in a little brick church in my hometown. They were each other's first love and have been together since. High school sweethearts they were.
I have envied and looked up to their love and marriage ever since I can remember. I never thought much about marriage growing up, but I always knew I wanted and dreamed of what my parents had. They make it look easy. And especially fun. I could not be more proud to be their daughter.
So happy anniversary to two of the most special people in my life. I love you guys more than life!
