And then there were three (plus one furry human)

After 9 weeks (which is eternity, btw) of keeping my mouth shut from most of the world, we can FINALLY share that our little family will be growing by one this September!!

Can you tell how excited Piper is about this news? haha!

We are so so so thrilled to finally be able to share with everyone else the excitement we have been feeling for so long.

It's crazy how you dream and pray for something for so long and the moment it comes true is the most surreal in the world.

I'd swear it wasn't true but seeing our little sweet pea and hearing his or her heartbeat confirmed it was in fact, real life. We couldn't be more thankful or blessed to call this little miracle ours. God is so, so good!

More details to come...

Calling all sunshine….

If I recall correctly, it is March 2nd…..right?

As I am looking out my window, all I see is white white white. And all I feel is cold cold cold. Feels like -14 to be exact. Little groundhog, we cannot be friends!

However, if I get out of school tomorrow…I have never loved the white and cold so much! Crossing my fingers for another snow day. We can only hope!

I finally have California in my sights now so I can finally dream of sunshine, laying out at the pool, and laying out at the pool some more. It is SERIOUSLY bad for my bank account though because all I can do is sit inside and hibernate and look at spring/summer clothes.

This is sold out and I may cry. Dottie Couture

Shop Hopes
Okay, now you can come SPRING. I am ready for you!!

Goodbye to one social media, Hello to another

Well, it happened again. I deleted Facebook. Gosh why does that always feel so good?

Maybe that means I'll actually blog again?

I'm not getting my hopes up :)

Truth be told, I just haven't had much to say.

I would post pictures of what I've been up to via instagram, etc. but 98.5% of them are of Piper. And 99% of those pictures are most likely of her sleeping. I obviously like variety! What is cuter than a sleeping little pup?! Ah, lucky day. I found a few!

I guess there is a little more than sleepy Pipes. We had three glorious snow days, went on a mini vaca to the lake, had a special Baptism, went to a KU game, and finished up with an awesome Lady A/Kip Moore/Kacey Musgraves concert!

I've missed blogging, but I just haven't felt it lately. Well, for quite some time actually. Not sure why…just wasn't/hasn't.

I do feel like I've been living in my own little bubble though and I'm not really liking that. I always blame it on work but I have a feeling it's maybe me just being old and lame these days? Haha! I kid, I kid. I think?

I've always been trying to think of another blog name and not feeling my current one anymore. Just kinda over it. I want a fresh start but maybe have to wait another five years to think of a good one that fits me and the blog. Process Pending…

I hope everyone is doing well! I've still been reading a lot of blogs, just horrible at responding. I really want to make a comeback. I miss coming back here to see what kind of crazy hooligans I was up to.

Happy President's Day!

I lift my life up

This song has been weighing on my heart for quite some time now.

The first time I heard it, it was almost like I had been slapped in my face. Steamy tears were streaking down my cheeks and I just knew that it was something I really needed at that very moment. Almost like He was speaking right through me.

I've done a lot of "trying to control" different situations in my day. Still do. Thinking my way, is the best way. Or worrying constantly about where the future will take us and the "what ifs" that may occur.

And then I wonder why I can't carry that type of weight on my own. It's because I'm not supposed to. So I'm learning to give away my control of thinking I know what's best. Trying, being the key word.  Truth is, it's one of the hardest things I have ever tried to do. But I'm learning….and that's all I can ask for.

Here are a little bit of the lyrics that hit me right in the soul….

You brought me this far, so why should I question you now?
You have provided, so why would I start to doubt?
I've never been stranded, abandoned, or left here to fight alone.
Hope your leaving me home, so I'm giving you control.

I lift, my life, lift my life up.
I give it all in surrender.
I lift my heart, lift my heart up.
You can have it forever.

All my dreams, all my plans
Lord I leave it in your hands.

I lift, my life, lift my life up
Have your way in me.
Have your way in me.

Happy Sunday everybody!

One year anniversary pictures

Back (waaaaay back) in August Jeff and I took some one-year anniversary pictures.

It wasn't supposed to turn out that way, but I'm glad it did. I guess procrastination does have some perks?

Pictures are a funny thing. You see those last four pictures? Well I have no idea how they turned out so incredibly awesome. There were SWARMS. And I mean…a freaking attack going on, of mosquitoes. I had welts all over my body. It seriously looked like I had the chicken pox on crack or something.

And then I see those pictures. They turned out pretty amazing and it's just funny to think I was getting eaten alive during them. We were cracking up the whole time because we were whacking the bugs off of each other.

Sometimes the story behind the pictures is just as great as the picture itself.

And note to self, don't go into a field/forrest after it rained. You may or may not get out alive.

It's here

Okay so yesterday I hyped myself up for 2014.

And here we are, now 2014.

Sadly Jeff and I started drinking a tad too early at our at home party for two, but I woke up JUST in time to get a New Years kiss from Jeff.

Now I'm trying to think of what I should do first…

Should I go work out?

Should I sit here and think positive thoughts?

Or should I go all out and organize our house and do the laundry?

Oh the possibilities with new years resolutions!

But I think I'll just stay right here, in my cheetah blanket, and sip some coffee and start 2014 relaxed. Add in a little Rose Bowl parade and you have yourself a pretty bad ass start to the new year.

I hope everyone had a safe and bottle poppin' New Year!!

2014 Goals

Well, well, well 2013. What a good year we have had together. Thank you for taking me to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Dallas, tons of KU games, a whole lot of baseball games, and even more lake trips. It was hard to beat getting married, getting a new job, and moving into a new house in 2012, but you were right up there with it.

It's crazy to think that I've been married and living here for a year and a half. It still feels to me like we just moved. Time is just slipping right out of my little hands.

I can just feel 2014 is going to be a good one. It may bring a lot of changes, but I'm ready to hit it full force.

I always like to think of goals for myself for the new year, a fresh start if you will. These usually last a couple of days, but maybe if I write a lot then one or two will stick. We can only hope, right?

So here is what I hope to do in 2014:

-Live with purpose

I spend so much time worrying about what I have to do, how to do it, and what I need to get done that I forget the whole purpose of it all. I rush through life, instead of slowing down and thinking of why I'm here in the first place. I want to live with a purpose of giving to others, being a better wife, friend, and daughter. I want do all things to please Him and make time for the things that are important, not just keep my to-do list happy.

-Not think so much/Keep it simple

I want to stop worrying about things that are clearly out of my control. I try so hard to control situations that are out of my hands. I want to keep my life and my mind simple and as stress free as possible. Nobody got time for that.

-Take more pictures

Self explanatory. And maybe if I'm lucky I will get in a few of them :)

-Continue our Wednesday date nights

These have really given me something to look forward to during the week. It's nice to slow down and have good conversation with my husband sans phone, dog, TV, or computers. I really treasure these nights. Probably more than he knows.

-Read my Bible more. Not just when I "have time".

-Learn to sew at least five things.

I just got a sew machine from my parents for Christmas and I am bound determined to sew, even though I keep telling myself that I can't do it and won't be good at it. Spreading a little positivity and hard work this year.

-Be healthy

-Have fun

Who doesn't want to have fun in 2014? I want to ride rides, travel, have wine nights, be spontaneous, play more games, and just do things that make me smile.

2014, let's do this thang!
