you get to marry me ;)
you will start your new job and kick booty and take some names
you can finally tailgate and not have to WORK
you will be in KS every.single.weekend once again {thank goodness}
you are healthy
and pretty dang good looking I must add
&
because we get one more year to do what we do best....
love & have a blasty doing it.

I love you to the moon & back.
and someone better take you out to dinner and
give you the biggest baddest bowl of ice cream to
fill in for me!

Happy Birthday !!!

Truthful Tuesday

The TRUTH is...

I am sorry for abandoning you, blog.
I have been busy & exhausted with this whole "big kid" stuff
that I just haven't really had the energy or creative thoughts.
Yes, I know excuses are the nails that built the house of
failure yadda yadda but this shiz wears me out!
{btw..yes I have I know I have no reason to complain...many of ya'll
have kids and other such priorities.}
I must say though...not having to study for tests is pretty darn nice.

I need to start taking more pictures.
I am slacking. Big time.
And I need to get over the whole not taking
pictures when I'm with people thing.
Need.Pictures.To.Remember.Or.I.Will.Forget.

Why do people gotta be so meaaaaan?
I wonder this daily.
What is the point in some people being MAJOR rat just to piss people off?
And why make someone feel like an idiot when you didn't even tell them
what to do in the first dang place. Ya, maybe if  I would have KNOWN
you wanted things done that way I would have DONE THEM that way.
This may or may not be from me to someone else.
Ya....well stop being rude and awful.
Thanks.

I am so pumped for football season.
It's not even funny.
Tailgating please come to me!
And friends.
And family.
And fun.
4 days!

Jeff's Birthday is TOMORROW.
Getting old over there.
We are four years apart so I get to call him such names.
Good thing he has me to keep him young ;)
Really not happy I can't spend his birthday
with him though. Big middle finger to MN for that one!

thanks friday, I needed you

My goodness it's finally FRIDAY.
thank the Lord.
I have been waiting for this day since...Monday.

First week of student teaching down and I must
say it has gotten much better since the not so great day 1.

The kids are finally getting into routine and realizing
summer is ova and it is time to learn and not punch each
other in the heads and fall off of chairs for fun.

Hopefully it just goes up from here.
Praying hard on that one.

In other news.

who wants to buy me this?

La Mer Collections

P.S.
how do you people do your big people jobs
without wanting to fall asleep at 7:00 PM.
I don't get it.
:)

Wedding Wednesday {Table Style}

Last Wednesday seemed like a decade ago,
can't believe how s l o w this past week as gone.

If you missed it, you'll have to check out the fab post Megan from Mackey Madness
did for me while I was a chipmunk after getting my wisdom teeth out.

This week table decorations are what's going down.

My "view" of what I want is timeless, simple, and perdy.
That's all.
Nothing too fancy.
Nothing wild & crazy.

Here is a picture I found that made a vision pop into my head.
Not like the picture, but definitely diggin' the burlap.

Through all this thinking/planning jazz, I've discovered my tastes
are either crazy changing or I never use to know what I really liked.
Never in 100 bazillion years would I had picked this out a few years ago.

My vision is to use a white table cloth like so,
burlap like so, added with a little bit of this.....

that insides holds a little bit of that

{engagment pictures + old pictures of J & I }

{quotes/notes written from j&i}

then obviously we need some of these to document the
crazy pictures....

and of couuuuuuurse there has to be flowers & candles.
I plan on putting them in mason jars and adding a ribbon around them.
Undecided right now on colors, flowers, and all that jazz.

that's what I've come up with so far,
but throw any ideas you think would
look good with the overall theme :)

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Da Truth

Truthful Tuesday
plays off of my post yesterday.

all giggles, smiles, love, and happiness.

HAHA. haha. ya.....

{crazy.... teacher's don't like me creepin in on their classes , who woulda thunk it ;)}

Truth Is....

The Teacher's Lounge is my enemy.
worst thing ever.
awful.
i'm never going back.
they didn't speak one word to me.
not one single little
"oh how is your first day going?!"
"how are you liking the school and the kids?!"
"anything we can help you with?"
"get the eff out of our building"
"you are taking my seat bia"
nothing.
i stared at my sandwhich a whole 20 minutes.
brutal.

I need to get on their level.
i forget they've only been alive about six years.
"dotted-lines" may not have ever been in their vocab,
i need to stop "assuming". sho do.
they are cute little boogers though, and really wish
they could play with legos instead of do school work.
like one kid said "why do we have to learn, why can't
we just play with leggos?" ha ha ya i wish that too buddy.
another gal said she was getting a climbing wall  and a smart board in her playroom
i asked if her i could come live with her.
but on the other hand one told another chica
"i'm going to punch your lights out and break yours glasses"
ouchy.

Kids > Adults.
they make me laugh about every other minute.
the things they say just crack me up.
and they flipping are obsessed with animals. obsessed.
they watched the hamster every waking moment hoping it would wake up.
and love love love praise.
and eating.
and recess.
and P.E.
and playdough.
and coloring.
that's about it.
haha.
i love them though and that is the one and only reason I am in the career i am.
i think a lot of people don't give them a chance they deserve.
and i think they all have potential beyond what they put on.
and it makes me smile extra wide when they come up to me and ask
"how's this one ms. jacquinot? i did it!"
ya, that kicks major butt.
love.it.mucho.
just flipping despise that teacher's lounge.

p.s. yes I realize there are no captials.
i leave rules at school :)

p.s.s. sad no pictures...it may be creepy taking snap shots during class.
or may get me kicked out. one or the other.

here goes nothing

Tomorrow my life does a little changeroo.

I start my 8 weeks of student teaching with my 1st graders.
Then comes my 7 months of an internship with my 4 or 5th graders.

Eeeeeek.

Yeah I am nervous.
Thank goodness I get to observe for two weeks before
I start to take over the classroom.

So pray for my scurred little self {especially around noon when I have
to awkwardly chill in the teacher's lounge with lots of women I don't know}
and hope I can handle not only one six or seven year old but eighteen of them.

P.S. why is it so hard for me to find school clothes?
rawr.

Insecurities

Sundays are probably my favorite day of the week.

What is better than getting to relax, go to church {which I should do WAY more often than I do}, take a long nap and getting to slow down for two seconds from your busy week and most likely weekend to just enjoy the finer things in life.

I love em'.
Minus the fact that Jeffro leaves on Sunday's these days,
that kind of put a large fat damper on my love for them currently.

However,
today's message at church was a good Sunday message I really needed to hear.
Topic:  Insecurities.

"It's Always Something."

From your unwanted cowlick to the stain on our shirt,
there is always something that makes us insecure.

But God made us the way we are for a reason.
Unique.
One of a kind.

So instead of relishing on the things we don't enjoy about ourselves,
which many times leads to being negative towards others {at least in my world}....
we just need to love them. Take pride in them even.
And realize they make us who we are.

And instead of looking at other's to figure out who we are,
we just need to look within own stinking selves. Most people who judge and critque us don't even know what THEY think or who THEY even are.

I see myself too many times comparing myself to others.
Wishing I had "better this" or "not that".
Picking out stupid things I wish I could change about myself.
Why not be happy with who I am?
The exact person that I was made to be.
Seems a whole lot easier that way.

Just thought I'd share.
It's always a good message to be reminded of.
And need to remember it on a daily basis.

HAPPY SUNDAY.
whoop whoop

Beyond Thankful

To say the least, it's been kind of a rough week.
{good thing wisdom teeth are one and done}

And I give all thanks to my mom for helping
take care of me all week and even feeding
me when my mouth was completely numb. haha.

She even took the time to drive me two hours back to my "other" home
yesterday because she didn't think I'd feel up to driving.

She planned on staying the night and then heading
home in the morning while I went to meetings all day.

Well, surprise surprise nothing is that easy with me.
I woke up to the most insane migraine of my life.
I was lifeless. Done for.
My mom stayed with me the entire day and did everything in her power
to make me feel better.

I can't quite put into words my thanks and love for my mom,
and I have tried plenty of times.
For someone to be so selfless is just beyond me.
& my daddio is the exact same way.
Needless to say, I feel extremely blessed and lucky.

but anywho before I go on & on & on thanks mom for nursing me back to health and being
the best mom in the entire universe.
I only hope I can be the same to my kids some day.
You always continue to amaze me....

It's A-Okay

Today I'm linking up for the first timeo with Amber and Neely for "It's Ok" Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

IT'S OK ....

that I have had chipmunk cheeks the past few days.

that I have been eating pounds of ice cream because I can hardly eat anything
with these darn wisdom teeth out.

that I am freaked out to start school because I have no idea how this year is going to go.

that I hate leaving home and secretly wish I could live here forever with the rents and Jeffy.

to still love the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC

to never want to grow up.

that I love to organize things, only to mess them up a few days later.  repeat and repeat

that I love Keeping up with the Kardashians and other such dramatic shows.

that  I want to stay away from my hometown because I think something is in the water with all these people getting pregnant. It's a little bit nuts.

that I want to give my mom a really awesome, spectacular gift for taking care of me all week.
{this doesn't really fit but I am so thankful for all her help..she has been working her behind off!}

Hopefully in a few days my brain and mouth will be back to normal and
I can actually write a post again.

P.S. whoever created pain pills...THANK YOU & so does my mouth.

Wedding Wednesday {Guest Post - Mackey Madness}

Boy do I have a treat for y'all this Wedding Wednesday.
Megan from Mackey Madness is guest posting for me while
I am looking like a chipmunk after getting my wisdom teeth out yesterday.
I'm so excited because she is wonderful, so sweet, and had a bomb diggity wedding.
If you haven't been to her blog yet, you should probably do that right after you read her post.
Now for some wedding talk with Megan.
:)

*************************************************************************

Hiiii friends! My name is Megan and I blog over at Mackey Madness!

I am ecstatic to be guest posting for Molly! Today I'm sharing my personal tips on how to make your wedding day as smooth and perfect as can be. These are just my opinions...I'm no professional, I've only done it once! ; )

1) Give yourself plenty of time when planning.

The last thing that you want is to feel rushed on your wedding day. If you estimate that something (like getting everyone's hair done) is going to take 3 hours, give yourself 4 hours. You want to be able to be relaxed and enjoy the little moments of the day, not screaming at everyone to hurry because you are running behind.

2) Eat. And again I say EAT!

Do NOT skip meals on your wedding day. That is not going to make you any skinnier and you will be irritable and tired the entire day. Eating will give you energy and settle your stomach. We ate donuts and pizza on my wedding day. #noskinnieshere

3) Be normal.

What do I mean by this? Wear your hair and makeup as normally as possible, obviously a little fancier or nicer than day to day life. Don't try a new way of doing your makeup the day of without practicing beforehand. You do not want to get the pictures back and think "I don't look like myself." Plus, your husband wants to marry YOU, not someone so heavily made up that it doesn't look like you.

4) Rely on other people to help you.

Just because you are the bride, does not mean that you have to do everything yourself. Make sure that your family and friends know what you want beforehand so that they can help you out on your wedding day. You are going to be nervous, excited, flustered, and anxious...you don't need to be pulled in ten different directions.

5) Laugh.

Be willing to laugh at the little things that go wrong. Hey, guess what, something IS going to go wrong. Something will be a little bit off from what you wanted. Laugh at it. It really doesn't matter in the long run. Plus, these little things add character to your day. One of my best friends knocked her entire unity candle table over. Everyone froze, waiting to see her reaction. She started laughing hysterically and everyone joined in. It's still such a great memory and people will never forget her wedding...and her great attitude!

6) Talk in depth with your photographer beforehand.

This is MAJOR. Besides the actual memories of the day, the pictures are some of the most important things. They will shape the way that you remember your day. Make sure that your photographer knows exactly what you want. Be direct and honest: "I want a close up picture of the kiss," "I want to take bride and groom pictures after outside," or "I want lots of pictures from our first dance." They can't read your mind!

I hope that some of these tips will help some future bride out there! Married, engaged, or not...what do y'all think? Do y'all agree or disagree? Any tips of y'alls own? I'd love to hear them!

Thanks so much for having me, Molly!! It was a joy!

*******************************************************************************

Thank for sharing Megan!
So glad you could join us for the best day of the week :)
I will definitely be using ALL of those tips considering my wedding is less than a YEAR now.

The Magic of Paint Samples

Who would have ever thought of using paint samples and chips
to figure out your wedding colors?

This gal did!

As you know I've been having quite the ordeal figuring them out and just
had been looking at colors through pictures I had found online
{which can sometimes be very misleading}
It's hard to swap them out and mix and match online, so
while I was at Wal Smart the other day I saw the paint chips and
instantly thought of wedding colors.

Obviously, because now everything I see reminds me of a wedding in
some sort of way. I guess that's what happens when you have
wedding planning on your mind ALL the time. Takes over your brain!

But it is helping tremendously mixing and matching colors
to see what looks best with what right against each other.
It is also nice to see the different shades of colors and how they
play into each other.

Another plus, is they have sample paints for about 3 buckeroos that
you can try. My momma came up with the idea to use the
samples for the signs I plan on making, picture frames, and etc.

And sorry to the Wal Mart worker who probably thought I was a crazy
lady taking oh...almost one of every color. My bad!

So if you are having the same problems as me with colors,
check it out and it will most likely help you see and figure out what you are looking for.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Football Friday

Football has ARRIVED.
My favorite sport of all time.
To watch, that is.

I love everything about football season.

The weather.
Tailgating.
Good food.
Getting rowdy.
Friends.
My Jayhawks.
It being okay to drink at 7 in the morning.
And the game itself.

It's also Mr. Fiance's favorite time of the year and I'm
sure I will be hearing from him much less on Sunday & Mondays now. haha.

Here are a few cute things I found on the one and only Pinterest {with some additions from Dick's Sporting Goods} that I want to use this season
for some JAYHAWK & CHIEFS FOOTBALL!

Simple & Cute

These are ADORABLE, but I couldn't find a KU one ANYWHERE :( Someone help me!

And some pray we have better luck than last year.

August 11, 2012 & A Thank You

First off,
I want to say a  very big
THANK YOU!

To all of you that provided positive advice and suggestions to me
the past few days over my wedding issues,  you rock and I really wish I could
take you all out for some frozen yogurt.
I really do appreciate the help.
{p.s. Navy Blue & Yellow was the winner winner chicken dinner :)}

With that being said our wedding date has been changed to....
August 11, 2012
Which, so happens....to be a year from TODAY.
Oh my goodness that is cuhrazy.

I loved October, but it just didn't make much sense to have a wedding
at that time and August really is ideal for both Jeff & myself.
Jeff was all for it because 11 is his favorite number and August is his birthday month. ;)

Kinda crazy I must say that one year from this very day.
I will have my first dance as Mrs. S.
I will kiss my husband.
I will no longer have to write "single" on doctor forms and such things.
I  will dance for hours upon hours and party the night away with the
very best friends and family.
I will marry....my very, very best friend.

I must say, I'm pretty thankful.
xoxo.

Wedding Wednesday {Business to Attend & A VOTE}

Business to Attend

Wow.
So this Wedding Wednesday could be about 80 pages long after all the thoughts that have been in my head the past few days. I really am not made for this planning stuff. I can't decide what to wear in the morning, let along plan the biggest day of my life. Holy mama.

So yesterday I was having a minor or maybe dramatic freak out about our wedding date.
For good reason in my opinion. A lot of things to consider.
We talked about changing it to August 11, 2012 because I will start grad classes
August 20, 2012 and that will give us one awesome week of a honeymoon before it begins.

It really is ideal, but I'm having a hard time commiting.
For some reason it has been kind of emotional changing the date,
like I was somehow connected to October 20, 2012. haha.

It just makes 100 times more sense to make it before I start school so I can a.) not having to worry about that part and b.) live at home for the summer so I don't have to live with Jeffy before we get married.
It would have been a little difficult to do if we got married in October considering my school was near him
and he would be living 2 hours from my hometown.
So anyway. I will make a "final" decision in the next few days. Just kind of playing with it right now.

I have another large issue at hand.
Ya, I'm a mess. If you know me well...you would understand.
This decision thing is kicking my a.s.s.
Why can't someone just decide it all for me and just read my little brain of what I want it to look like?
Dang that'd be nice.
I need to stop worrying about chosing the wrong thing. Rawr.
So here's where you come in!.....

A VOTE

Okay, so colors.
I've talked about this 2 times now.
holy shiz there are so many.
So we are going to do a bloggeroo vote.
Just for fun. And because I'd really like to know what y'all think.

Choice A: Navy Blue {or some blue} + Yellow

Choice B: Navy Blue + Bright Pink + Maybe Grey

Choice C: Navy Blue + Green

should out to natasha for this one.

Choice D: Any other suggestions you have!

Choice D: No clothes at all because they are too hard to decide on. Hey it'd be cheaper! ha!
